Terms and Conditions
By accessing the MediTapRx website and related applications, and by using any of our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time, and any revisions will take effect upon publication on our website.
Section A – Introduction and General Terms
About Us
The MediTapRx website (meditaprx.co.uk) is owned and operated by HealthTap UK Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16597038). “We” and “us” refer to HealthTap UK Ltd and our associated brands. Our clinical team comprises UK-registered pharmacists. We provide a telemedicine prescribing service and work with GPhC-registered partner pharmacies to dispense medications and related care or any community pharmacy of your choice.
Our Services
During a digital consultation (via questionnaire and telephone or video), our prescribers will discuss treatment options, which may include issuing a private prescription. There is no obligation to prescribe. If prescribing is deemed unsafe or inappropriate, the prescriber may decline and advise you to seek alternative care, for example, from your GP.
A questionnaire-based consultation or order for a POM, P or GSL medicine is an offer to purchase. It becomes a binding contract only when a prescription is issued or a service commences. We reserve the right to refuse orders that appear clinically unsafe or inappropriate. You acknowledge that prescribers decide whether to issue a prescription and that partner pharmacies handle dispensing and shipping.
Medicines displayed on our site are for illustrative purposes only. Access depends on a consultation and a valid private prescription, which is sent securely to our partner pharmacy for dispensing. MediTapRx does not store or dispense POM. P or GSL medications.
All services, products and prescriptions are intended solely for UK residents. If you access our services outside the UK, you do so at your own risk. Consultations must take place while you are physically in the United Kingdom.

C.6 Dispensing Fees and Co-payments
Any dispensing fees, private prescription charges, or pharmacy service fees are payable directly to the dispensing pharmacy and are not included in MediTapRx service prices.
C.7 Generic Substitution
Where permitted by law, a pharmacist may dispense a generic equivalent. The pharmacist will inform you of any substitution; we will update your prescription record accordingly.
C.8 Cancellation of Prescriptions
You may request cancellation or amendment of a prescription within 24 hours of issue. Suppose a prescription has already been transmitted to a pharmacy or dispensed. In that case, cancellation or amendment will be subject to the dispensing pharmacy’s policies and practical ability to recall or amend the supply.

We comply with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. MediTapRx clinicians act as data controllers and maintain records securely in line with Article 30 of the GDPR. You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
We share personal information only with third parties essential to service delivery, such as prescribers, partner pharmacies and couriers, and only with explicit consent for marketing purposes.
Our systems use SSL encryption to protect your data in transit. You agree to use appropriately secure devices to access our services. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
D.1 Data controller and lawful bases
HealthTap UK Ltd (trading as MediTapRx) is the data controller for personal data processed in connection with the provision of services. Personal data, including special category health data, will be processed for the purposes of providing clinical care, fulfilling contractual and legal obligations, and, where required, with your explicit consent, in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
D.2 Purposes and categories of processing
We process identity, contact, clinical, prescription and transaction data to provide consultations, make prescribing decisions, facilitate dispensing, perform clinical audit and quality assurance, comply with legal and regulatory obligations, and to the extent you consent, for direct marketing. We will not process health data for marketing without your explicit consent.
D.3 Recipients and international transfers
We disclose personal data to partner pharmacies, clinicians, processors, couriers and other service providers where necessary to provide care. Processors are contractually bound to implement appropriate safeguards. Personal data will not be transferred outside the UK unless adequate safeguards are in place and you are informed of such transfers.

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object to processing, and request portability of your personal data where applicable. Requests should be submitted to admin@meditaprx.co.uk. We will verify identity before complying with requests and will respond within statutory timescales.
D.5 Retention
Clinical records will be retained for a minimum of eight years from the date of last treatment, or longer where required by law or professional guidance. Non‑clinical records will be retained for periods proportionate to their purpose and legal obligations. Records will be securely deleted or anonymised when retention is no longer necessary.
D.6 Security and breach notification
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption, access controls, staff training and supplier due diligence. In the event of a personal data breach likely to result in risk to individuals, we will notify the Information Commissioner’s Office and affected individuals in accordance with legal requirements.
D.7 Data Protection Impact Assessment and contact
We have carried out or will carry out Data Protection Impact Assessments where processing is likely to result in high risk to individuals and will maintain records of processing activities.
We will verify the identity of every patient before providing clinical services or issuing prescriptions by means of documentary evidence (for example, a current passport, UK driving licence, or other government-issued photographic identity document) and/or electronic identity verification services.
Verification will be limited to the minimum personal data necessary to confirm identity and to fulfil our legal, regulatory and clinical obligations.
F.1 Lawful basis and purpose
The lawful bases for identity verification are: (a) performance of the contract for provision of healthcare services; (b) compliance with legal and regulatory obligations applicable to clinical care and prescribing; and (c) prevention and detection of fraud and abuse of clinical services.
Where identity checks require processing of special category data, such processing will be carried out on the basis of explicit consent and/or other lawful bases available under UK data protection law as required for clinical care and regulatory compliance.
F.2 Third‑party providers and data sharing
We may engage third‑party identity verification providers and, for that purpose, disclose only the minimum personal data necessary for verification. Such providers will act as our processors and will be subject to written data processing agreements that require appropriate technical and organisational safeguards.
We will not perform credit scoring or other activities that adversely affect your credit rating as part of routine identity verification. Where a third‑party check may involve financial data, we will notify you and obtain explicit consent before proceeding.

They follow standards for person-centred care, professional judgement, confidentiality, and remote prescribing guidelines. Prescribers operate within their scope of practice and refer you elsewhere if a condition falls outside their competence.

We will keep your information in secure clinical systems and use it solely for your direct clinical care unless you provide additional, explicit consent for other uses; you have the right to withdraw consent and to be told how your data will be used in clear, prominent terms as set out in ICO guidance on consent.
We will verify prescriber registration with the appropriate UK healthcare regulators as part of safe clinical governance and to meet our legal and professional obligations under healthcare confidentiality and regulatory frameworks.
